Seamless Integrations: Rapport3 and Xero

Rapport3 enables integration with a number of different solutions, including Sage, Newforma and Open Asset, allowing you to keep all your key information in one place. In this piece, Cubic Interactive’s Director, Daniel LoGiudice, examines how you can integrate Xero into Rapport3 for quick and easy accounting, invoicing and expenses. 


The key to a great project management system is having all your key information easily accessible in one place. At Cubic Interactive, we have developed our software to be able to offer you just that, with essential project management functionalities available alongside HR tools , email services and accounting software. However, we understand that moving your staff and business onto a new system can be a daunting task and sometimes - in line with the old ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it’ adage - you may require a new project management system but do not want to switch over from your existing accounting, email or asset management software. That is why we have developed Rapport3 to integrate seamlessly with an array of the top AEC industry softwares. From Sage to Newforma to OpenAsset, Twinfield to Outlook, we can take your existing software and integrate it with our intelligent system to provide you with comprehensive, useful and intuitive project information, all in one place. 

Over the past three years, Xero has become a very popular accounting solution, with around 20% of our Rapport3 customers using it. It's easy to see why this has happened. The solution is Cloud-based and it has an easy-to-use and intuitive interface, with all key reports being easy to access. My favourite tool is the invoice auto-reminder workflow.

We have had our Rapport3 and Xero integration working for many years now. Due to both Xero and Rapport3 being Cloud-based, we are able to use the APIs for both solutions, making developing and maintaining an integration simple and straightforward.

The integration allows for staff expenses, sales and purchase invoices to be automatically pushed to Xero from Rapport3, streamlining the process of updating the two systems and keeping them aligned. The result of this is reduced double entry of data and greatly improved efficiency. As soon the invoices have been reconciled in Xero with your bank feed, Rapport3 is updated with the payment date. 

This connection between the two solutions allows for the consumption of data in the right place. So project leaders in Rapport3 are able to easily see when invoices have been paid or if sub-consultant invoices have been received.

Some larger project accounting solutions include a built-in accounts module, citing improved overhead and cost reconciliation. However, with the tools in Rapport3 allowing the easy reapplication of overhead rates and cost rates, it is up to you to choose an accounting solution that matches your business needs - and our integration with Xero is a real winner.
