We’ve Partnered with Forest Carbon to Tackle Climate Change
January 29, 2021

We take the current and future health of our planet seriously, so we’ve decided to invest in it as a company. We’ve joined Forest Carbon’s Carbon Club, to help mitigate the impact of our emissions as a company and make a contribution to wider environmental benefits.

We really care about climate change and minimising our impact on the planet. So, we’ve decided to partner with Forest Carbon as part of their Carbon Club. Forest Carbon works with companies who want to reduce their emissions as far as they can, helping them to finish the job by capturing the remaining balance in forests across the UK.

So far, together with their partners - which includes leading architectural practices like Foster & Partners - they have planted over 7.0 million trees in the UK, in woodlands independently audited and certified under the UK Woodland Carbon Code – the government backed standard that offers corporate partners complete assurance about the high quality of their carbon investment. In addition to capturing CO2, a UK woodland also delivers other local and tangible benefits for biodiversity, landscape, flood management, water quality and recreation.

The amount we invest in the scheme each month should eventually plant 400 trees per year. In theory, this should help to mitigate the emissions produced from our 35 or so staff and 100,000 miles travelled a year.

You can join us in tracking how many trees we plant with the scheme on our dedicated page here - we’ve joined recently so there aren’t many yet! The new UK woodlands we support won't just capture CO2; they'll also have wider benefits, including flood mitigation, cleaner rivers and air, habitat for wildlife, public access and supporting employment.

It’s a definite win for the environment, for society as a whole and for our company.
