Award-Winning Scotland-Based Practice, CDA Group, Replaces Excel Spreadsheets with Rapport3

In order to improve efficiency within their large practice, the highly successful CDA Group decided to move to Rapport3 and implement our Project Costing, Contacts (CRM), HR and Xero Integration modules.

Award-winning architectural practice CDA Group was founded in 1979 and is based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, providing an integrated service in architecture, planning and interior design on projects throughout the UK. They have a fantastic reputation in delivering major projects and masterplans in the office, business park, retail, residential, education and leisure sectors. CDA has grown into hugely successful practice since its formation, consistently featuring in the ‘AJ100’ list of Britain's largest architectural practices. 


CDA had been using a range of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to manage their projects, which their business needs outgrew. Seeing the importance of implementing an integrated system to improve efficiency going forward, especially considering the current climate, they chose our Rapport3 software. They selected our main Project Costing module along with our Contacts (CRM), HR and Xero Integration modules for a completely integrated solution which will be vital in helping to facilitate their future success. Rapport3 enables them to access to all business information through a single interface, with no data duplication and less mistakes.


The Rapport3 Job Costing module is our main module and a true powerhouse. Designed to streamline and simplify any task or project, the Project Costing module makes project management infinitely easier and more successful. With handy features such as an intuitive project search, resource planning, business intelligence, budget planning, expenses, QA, team management and more all displayed on sophisticated dashboards, our Job Costing module will keep CDA in complete control of all their projects. 


Our GDPR-compliant Contacts (CRM) module will help CDA to keep track of their growing client base. Contact information is clearly displayed on the dashboard, with an intelligent contact lifecycle retaining company history, keeping it always easily accessible. The powerful dashboard has features unlike any competitor, including a campaign management system, comprehensive integration with Outlook and the capability to manage business development tasks through mobile and Outlook plugins. This way, CDA can access key contact information even if they are out of the office. 


Our HR module will enable CDA to keep key staff information available in a searchable database, including skills information and performance reviews, so they can always ensure they have the right people on each project and identify areas for personal development. Rapport3’s HR module will ensure that CDA can keep track of their team as they keep track of their projects. Also providing CPD, Benefits and Recruitment features, they can take care of their large staff as people and as professionals at all times, from one place. 


Integration with Xero provides CDA with a seamless data flow between Xero and Rapport3, so there is no data duplication or errors. The data flow is two-way, so that both softwares are always in communication with each other, ensuring accuracy.
