Our Client Heatherwick Studio Set To Build New Utrecht Tower
Our client Heatherwick Studio, in collaboration with Barcode Architects, has won a competition to design a new public building on Jaarbeursplein Square in Utrecht. The two firms will work together on the project.
In a competition arranged by the Utrecht Municipality, the team partnered with Edge, a company known for sustainable real estate development, to propose a new center for culture, work, and leisure in the city, which caters to its diverse population. Their design nicknamed Oopen, features a series of unique, colorful cylindrical shapes that add warmth and playfulness to the square and distinguishes itself from the usual angular architecture in the surrounding area.
